PHA Group invited True to help them re-launch their internal mentoring programme.
The challenge
PHA Group wanted to re-launch its internal mentoring programme after a five-year hiatus. While there was strong appetite across the organisation, the programme needed structure, clarity and confidence to ensure it delivered real value for both mentors and mentees.
The priority was not simply to restart mentoring, but to do so in a way that:
clearly defined roles and expectations
equipped participants with the skills and confidence to mentor effectively
created a consistent experience that could be piloted and scaled
True Approach
True was invited to support the design, launch and enablement of the mentoring programme.
We worked closely with the PHA Group team to:
plan and shape the pilot mentoring scheme
design and deliver a practical training session for mentors and mentees
create a comprehensive mentoring workbook to support learning beyond the workshop
The training focused on helping participants understand:
the purpose of mentoring and how it supports development
the distinct roles and responsibilities of mentors and mentees
how to build effective mentoring relationships
how to listen, challenge and support in a constructive way
The accompanying workbook reinforced this learning, providing practical guidance, reflection prompts and tools participants could return to throughout the mentoring relationship.
The impact
The programme was re-launched with a shared understanding of purpose, clear expectations and practical support for everyone involved.
As PHA Group reflected:
“Working with Ann-Marie and Howard has not only been a pleasure, but instrumental in re-launching our internal mentoring programme after a five-year hiatus. Their expert guidance helped us plan and implement the pilot scheme, educate our pairings with an insightful training workshop, and create a comprehensive workbook to complement what they learned. Their knowledge and experience have helped set up our programme for success, and we would highly recommend their services and support.”
