True designed a bespoke development programme built around practical, people-centred learning.

We began by strengthening the foundations — covering the core components of a strategic internal communications plan, ensuring the team had clarity on objectives, audiences, insight, channel strategy and evaluation.

From there, we moved into more advanced capability building. Together, we agreed priority topics and themes aligned to their ambition to operate as trusted advisers.

The programme covered:

  • Strategic communications planning — shifting from reactive delivery to proactive, business-aligned planning

  • Organisational listening — embedding insight to inform decisions, not just measure sentiment

  • Measurement and value — moving from reporting metrics to demonstrating impact and contribution

  • People-centred change — strengthening their role in enabling behaviour change, not just awareness

  • Resilience and future focus — understanding the major trends shaping communication

  • Multi-generational communication  designing inclusive approaches that engage diverse age groups without stereotyping

 

Every session combined frameworks, discussion and real-world scenarios so that learning translated directly into day-to-day practice.

Delivery Method

Modules were delivered hybrid and were a mix of workshops, live exercises, and team reflection. Sessions were scheduled monthly to give time for practice and reinforcement.

We are now in Year 2 of the partnership building on earlier foundations with with particular emphasis on advanced measurement, strategic storytelling and navigating the evolving AI-enabled communications environment.

The Impact

This is an ongoing development partnership, and we are delighted with the feedback received so far.

The team has strengthened both its confidence and competence in strategic communication practice. Crucially, the impact is visible beyond the team itself. They report improved relationships with senior leaders — characterised by more open conversations, earlier engagement in strategic discussions and greater trust in their advice.
